Meet-the-Team

Stephanie Whetsel Borzendowski and Leah Hartman met at Clemson University in 2013 while pursuing their respective doctorate degrees. In fact, on the same day Stephanie defended her dissertation, Leah presented her master’s thesis proposal. After graduating from Clemson in 2014, Stephanie began her career as a human factors consultant at Applied Building Science in Charleston, SC. Leah joined the firm in 2018 after completing her degree. They developed a strong working relationship during their time together at ABS and in 2022, decided to venture out on their own. And with that, Perceptio Forensics was born.

Stephanie Borzendowski

Stephanie is an expert in the field of human factors psychology, including perception, attention and distraction, and safety. She applies this expertise to the analysis of traffic crashes and personal injury matters. Stephanie is responsible for researching and reenacting accidents as part of her analysis. She has been qualified in the area of human factors in courts in North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Georgia and Illinois. Stephanie is a bookworm and podcast junkie who lives in Summerville with her husband, son and dog. She is a diehard Clemson football fan.

Leah Hartman

PhD, CXLT, CPO

Leah has expertise in the field of human factors with research that focuses on how individuals perceive and interact with their environment and technology. Leah applies her expertise with empirical scientific research to the objective analysis of personal injury matters and premises safety consulting. Additionally, she has experience in forensic photography. Leah has been qualified in the areas of human factors and biomechanics in courts in South Carolina and Florida. Leah is a self-taught DIYer who loves to travel (she’s been to 32 countries and counting). She has two cats and is a proud Clemson Tiger.

Khadijah Allen

Administrative Manager

Khadijah has over 6 years of experience as a quality service-driven professional in the industry, performing accounting and administrative functions to support organizations’ operations and leadership. She has expertise in customer service, accounts payables/receivables, and data entry/collections. Khadijah enjoys dancing and loves to spend time on the beach with her family.
